Tannery Court Circular – July 2022 News and Events
Tannery Court has wasted no time in resuming its very busy social life since the lifting of Welsh Covid restrictions.
Dorothy Taylor’s 100th Birthday
Our first event was to celebrate Dorothy Taylor’s 100th Birthday. Dorothy certainly celebrated in style with not one but two parties and was Queen at both wearing her 100 Tiara. For the first party she celebrated with the Mayor of Abergele and for the second party she celebrated with friends, family, staff and our own Welsh Assembly member who was master of ceremonies. Baby Bronte was also present to represent the youngest member of the Tannery family who was four months old.
Other Events
Since then we have celebrated Pancake Day, St David’s Day, Valentine supper and Dance, a Spring Fair, Music from The Siver Surfer’s Ukele Band, Bingo, fornightly Quiz, Jubilee Party and BBQ.
Valentine’s Supper and Dance
Spring Fair
Silver Surfer’s Ukele Band
This was an afternoon of music enjoyed by the Owners at Tannery Court. Owner Alistair Bainbridge joined in with the band for a couple of songs.
Jubilee Celebratons
The Jubilee Party was a great success and enjoyed by all who attended and certainly one to remember especially for those who enjoyed the Coronation Celebrations in 1952.
After gratefully receiving a grant of £250.00 for which we applied for from Abergele Council we were able to plan the party. Accessories, live music and delicious party food were the flavour of the day.
RSL donated a boxed bottle of Moet & Chandon pink champagne for raffling which was won by Norma Jones who is going to share it with her family on the occasion of the christening of her great granddaughter. The money raised on the raffle amounted to £138.00 which was added to the party fund. The day to make the event such a great success and one to remember.
We are very much looking forward to our Summer Garden Party with Beulah Brass Band. The mayor will also be coming to join us in our garden for the event.
